Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify disassembly work, by securing a shaft on a main body with jigs and thereafter carrying out disassembly.
CONSTITUTION: Securing jigs 9 are prepared. A shaft seal seat 10 is provided with holes to insert the securing jigs 9. These jigs 9 are inserted into the holes of the seat 10. One end of each jig 9 is attached to a main body 1 to secure a shaft 2 on the main body 1. After that, a bearing nut 3, a bearing lid 4, a collar 5, a bearing box 6, a bearing 7 and a shaft seal 8 are sequentially disassembled. Since the shaft 2 is first secured on the main body 1 by the jigs 9, the position of each jig 9 does not need to be changed and the disassembly can be effected only by sequentially removing the parts. This results in facilitating the disassembly and maintenance of the bearing 7 and shaft seal 8 of a horizontal rotary machine.
