Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a sealing properties and reduce torque, by prescribing the construction and disposition of seals.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of seals 5, 6, which are secured on an outer race 1 at both the sides of rollers 3, is each composed of an annular permanent magnet 11 with its north pole on the inside surface 8 and its south pole on the outside surface 9, a pair of annular steel plates 12, 13 in tight contact with the surfaces 8, 9, and an elastic member 14 made of rubber and integrated with the permanent magnet 11 and the steel plates 12, 13. The distance A between an inner race 2 and the steel plates 12, 13 is made shorter than that B between the inner race 2 and the permanent magnet 11 and than the C between the steel plates 12, 13. A lubricant, which is a magnetic fluid, is provided in the seals 5, 6. Sealing is effected well by the lubricant present under magnetic field between the inner race 2 and the steel plates 12, 13. Since the seals 5, 6 are out of contact with the inner race 2, torque is reduced.
