Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain stabilized rate of dust collection at all times, by moving discharge electrodes or dust collecting electrodes in accordance with change of ion wind due to the change of flow velocity of a dust containing gas or fluctuation of the operating voltage.
CONSTITUTION: High voltage is fed via a feeder 22 in an insulator 21 to discharge lines 23. The discharge lines 23 in the linear form are positioned between pocket dust collecting electrodes 24 having pockets 25, and the discharge electrodes 23 are positioned in front of the pockets 25 so that the dust containing gas can flow into the pockets 25. The pocket dust collecting electrodes 24 can be moved laterally by a driving apparatus 26. When the flow velocity of the dust containing gas has changed, the pocket dust collecting electrodes 24 can be moved manually or automatically corresponding to the value measured by a current flow meter.
