Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the light emission brightness on a screen and to simplify the drive circuit by light emitting line sequentially from a fluorescent face by means of a stripe-shaped electron beam. CONSTITUTION:A nonmodulation stripe-shaped electron beam 5 emitted from a beam source 8 in parallel with a fluorescent face 4 is deflected by an auxiliary deflection electrode 14 and a main deflection electrode 6 and projected onto a fluorescent face while scanned vertically on the fluorescent face 4 with constant speed. The image signal is sampled in correspondence with a picture element in horizontal direction or a control electrode 2 and each sampling signal is provided to each corresponding electrode 2.
