Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a obstacle and to reduce the size of a transmitting and receiving antenna by a method wherein the obstacle is detected through an irradiation of a light frequency having a small energy density among a solar light spectrum. CONSTITUTION:When an information processing unit 11 outputs a transmitting signal f, it is entered in a light emitting element 12 and the element 12 outputs a modulated transmitting light g having a wave length in accordance with a light transmission factor in which the solar light energy density lowers and a transmission optical system 13 receives it and sends it forward a car. A light reflected from the obstacle in front of the car is received in a receiving optical system 14 and a receiving light h is made to pass through an optical filter 15, thus, the solar light being interrupted in an area outside its passing zone. A light receiving element 16 receives an output of the optical filter 15 and outputs a reflection signal i and the information processing unit 11 processes the reflection signal i to exactly detect the obstacle forward.
