Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the direction, distance and reflection intensity of a reflector stably at a high speed by emitting tone-burst signals, modulated by binary codes bearing no correlation, in respective directions simultaneously or in sequence and by sorting received codes by discriminating. CONSTITUTION:Code generator 5 transmits at the same time M-series codes bearing no correlation. Carriers from carrier oscillator 4 are modulated by those codes and then amplified respectively by a group of transmitting amplifiers 2a, 2b...2n before being radiated as acoustic waves from a group of transducers 1a, 1b...1n. Reflected waves from a reflector under water are converted by receiving transducer 6 into electric signals, which are inputted to code sorter 9 by way of receiving amplifier 7 and detector 8. Code sorter 9 sorts acoustic waves arriving at various angles and they are displayed by display unit 10.
