Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely eliminate an error due to stray charge and to perform a correct measurement of electric power by a method wherein an error compensation circuit is installed between an electronic switch and a pulse width modulation unit and the charge stored when the electronic switch is opened is discharged.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse width moduclation unit 12 applies a sampling pulse to an electronic switch 11 to open and close contacts 11a, 11b alternately, and takes in voltage v1, v2 through an error compensation circuit 13. At this time, a stray charge stored between the switch 11 and the modulation unit 12 is discharged through a resistor 13a or 13b. A pulse width signal from the modulation unit 12 controls the opening and the closing of an electronic switch 14, currents i1, i2 are taken in alternately and converted into pulse signals 15 in proportion to an electric power, thus, being digitally displayed in a display unit 17 through a frequency dividing circuit 16.
