Abstract

PURPOSE: To stop a plunger shaft rapidly in a reduced damping condition in the case of return operation of a plunger shaft by sending a typing ribbon through an intermediate movable member by receiving an inertia energy in an original position.
CONSTITUTION: A plunger 6 is impinged on a platen 12 to carry out typing and, thereafter, slid to a left direction and returned to an original position. In this case, because return energy is held as inertia energy, the base portion thereof is impinged to a rebound shaft 25 and the rebound shaft 25 is slid to a left direction against a spring 27. Thereby, a sending nail 13 of a leading end of a plate 30 is engaged with a ratchet 20 to advance a ratchet wheel 18 only one tooth. By this rotation, a ribbon spool 16 is also rotated and a typing ribbon 14 is wound only one pitch. Thereafter, the rebound shaft 25 is slid to a right direction by a return force of the spring 27 and returned to an original position. As described above, the plunger shaft 6 is stood still at an original position rapidly in a reduced damping condition.
