PURPOSE:To improve the linearity of a signal having nonlinear distortion, by a digital compensator having an input and output characteristics cancelling nonlinear distortion. CONSTITUTION:Compensated data are written in advance in the ROM2 and the compensated data are output according to the level of input signal. At a multiplier 4, the optimum value of the amount to be compensated is selected at a switch S1, and an adder/subtractor 6 operates the compensation signal with the input signal delayed for the operating time of ROM2 and a division circuit 5 to obtain digital correction output.
