Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the fluctuation in a reaction force nonlinear to reduce the decrease in the reaction force of a brake pedal to improve a feeling in control, by changing the lever ratio of a reaction lever depending on the fluctuation in the thrusting force of a power piston.
CONSTITUTION: A reaction plate 22 is attached to the rear end of an output rod 18. The reaction plate 22 is made of a plurality of reaction lever portions 22d which have an S-shaped cross section and are integrally formed radially and comprise pressure receiving sections 22c fulcrum-engaged with the fulcrum engaging portion 20 of a power piston 3 and the fulcrum engaging portion 21 of a valve plunger 10 and comprise support sections 22b partially in linear contact with the pressure receiving sections 22c. When a reaction force from the output rod 18 increases, the support sections 22b are curved forward and back ward so that the contact area of a fulcrum engaging part 23 increases and the center of the fulcrum engaging part 23 is displaced in the radial direction. As a result, the lever ratio of the pressure receiving sections 22c is changed.
