Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of producing HCl and NOx in a melting furnace by providing a humidifying spray nozzle part for residues on the conveying passage of pyrolysis residues from a pyrolyzing furnace to the melting furnace.
CONSTITUTION: On a passage of a conveying residues from a pyrolyzing furnace 1 to a melting furnace 10, a residue storage 6 with spray nozzles 7 is provided. The spray nozzles 7 are for spraying water or lime water over the pyrolysis residues accumulated at the storage 6. The lime water sprayed from the spray nozzles 7 is obtained by mixing lime from a lime tank 22 with water 19 in a lime water preparing tank 11 and is pumped to the spray nozzles 7 by a pump 12. NH4Cl dissolved into water by this humidifying operation undergoes reaction with Na+, K+, Ca2+ which had existed in the ash in the residues and were dissolved into water by the humidifying operation or Ca2+ coming from the added lime water, producing NH3 and being changed into NaCl, KCl, CaCl2, etc., which are stable to Cl, and thus the amount of HCl component in meltig furnace exhaust gases is reduced.
