Abstract
PURPOSE:To make capable of detecting light from all incidence angle by forming a photocathode on the inside surface of an air-tight container, stringing an electron collecting electrode on the cylinder axis, and providing a plurality of cylindrical dynodes between the photocathode and electron collecting electrode. CONSTITUTION:Voltages are applied to a photocathode 2, dynodes 41, 42, and 43 where the voltages are higher in order, and an electron collecting electrode 3 is grounded through a resistance. On irradiation, photoelectrons are emitted from the photocathode 2, accelerated to collide on the dynode 41, and more secondary electrons are emitted, and the secondary electrons are accelerated and collide to the dynode 42. This secondary electrons are multiplied by the dynode 43 and collected by the electron collecting electrode 3, and a voltage which generated between the ends of a resistance connected to the electron collecting electrode 3 is detected with a voltmeter.
