Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtian a proper gear contact pattern and to reduce the number of bearings, by disposing the first-stage gear wheel unit including two helical gears having opposite helix directions each other to hold a single helical gear wheel constituting another stage of a gear train, and forming a projection on the contact surfaces of said single helical gear wheel.
CONSTITUTION: A pinion 3 and a single helical gear wheel 4 constituting the second stage of a gear train are held between two helical gears of the first-stage gear wheel unit 2 having opposite helix directions, and the first-stage gear wheel unit 2 and the second-stage pinion 3 are formed in a unitary manner. Here, annular projections 12 are formed coaxially on both side faces of gear wheel 4, so that substantially rolling contact is caused during operation and axial forces acted to the simple helical gear can be absorbed by making the tangential velocity of gear wheel 4 a the portions on the surfaces where it is held in contact with gear wheels 2 substantially equal to that of the gear wheels 2. Further, since axial positions of other gears can be determined by providing a bearing 9 for gear wheel 4 with a positioning thrust bearing, assembling operation can be simplified considerably.
