Abstract

PURPOSE: To offer a compact, inexpensive gear pump with high ejection pressure and simple construction without resorting to machining precision by narrowing a gap between a side panel and gears.
CONSTITUTION: A drive gear 15 and its slave gear 16 are mounted in a concavity 18 of a pump case 17. A side panel 25, the end face of which is finished flat, is inserted into the pump case 17 along a cylindrical surface 29 having the end face of the side panel 25 contacted fitly with the side faces of gears 15 and 16. After a cover (not shown in the figure) is tightened, the pump is operated without load by rotating the drive gear 15 with a motor, for instance, which results that only a portion of the side panel 25 contacting with the gears 15 and 16 is ground down to the depth of 0W0.1mm, therefore the circumferential rim of the side panel 25 is contacted fitly with a stage 28 of the pump case 17. This eliminates the gap between the side faces of the gears 15 and 16 and the side panel 25. Thus, a highly efficient, inexpensive and compact gear pump can be offered.
