Abstract

PURPOSE: To read marks with high precision by providing parity marks on a mark sheet and by making a parity check on the number of marks read when the mark sheet is read.
CONSTITUTION: Facsimile transmitter 301 scans mark sheet 101 and outputs signal (f). In sheet 101, one of mark fields is used for parity marks and the number of entered marks should be even. Signal (f) is supplied to synchronizing signal separating circuit 302, and picture signal (p) to mark identifying circuit 305. Circuit 305, receiving signal (p), compares it with mark conditions M0 and when signal (p) is greater, mark information (m) is sent to parity checking circuit 306. Circuit 306 adds information (m) and, when the sum is even, regards information (m) as normal one, thereby outputting it to computer 307.
