PURPOSE:To prevent a formed picture from fluctuating by delaying a picture formation signal corresponding to the phase difference between the transmission indication clock of the picture formation signal and a start timing detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The phase difference between start timing detection signal 12 and picture transmission indication CLK (clock) 15 of the printer that forms a picture by raster scanning is detected by detecting circuit 16. This detected phase difference signal 17 is supplied to delay circuit 18 to control the delay amount of picture formation signal 13. Therefore, picture formation signal 13' can be sent out at constant timing for start timing detection signal 12, so that the formed picture can be prevented from fluctuating.
