Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately measure the displacement of fuel rods, by using a plurality of noncontact type eddy current displacement meters, through the displacement of this meter along fuel rods arranged toward running direction of fuel assembly, along with the axis line of fuel rods and/or orthogonally to the axis line, relatively.
CONSTITUTION: The distance from a fuel rod A is measured with sensors S1, S2, and the position from the locations O1, O2 of sensors is determined by synthesizing the readings l1 and l2. Thus, when the sensors S1, S2 are located axially and moved, for example, allowing to measure the axial distribution of the two dimensional displacement of the fuel rod A. Further, the sensor S3 is located at 180° on the same place to the sensor S1, allowing to measure the variance in diameter of the fuel rod A.
