CONSTITUTION:A nitride film of Fe-N or Fe-N-X (X is Al or Cr) is formed on each surface of articles by a nitriding method or a soft nitriding method such as Tufftride to enhance the seizing and wear resistances, and then the articles are plated with zinc to enhance the rust preventive power. At this time, if plating is carried out by ordinary treament of washing-degreasing-pickling-zinc plating-drying, the nitride films disappear in the pickling process. The nitrided articles are superior to other material in corrosion resistance and are hardly rusted in the time from the nitriding to the plating. Accordingly, by carrying out zinc plating in such processes omittting a pickling process, the rust preventive effect is enhanced without losing the nitrided layers.
