Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled paint having excellent pigment dispersibility, color developing characteristics and storage stability, by a method wherein a sodium salt of a specified sulfoethyl cellulose as a thickener is blended with a water-dispersed resin paint.
CONSTITUTION: An alkali cellulose is reacted with sodium β-chloroethanesulphonate in a water-soluble org. solvent to obtain a sodium salt of a sulfoethyl cellulose having an etherification degree of 0.2 or more. The sodium salt of the sulfoethyl cellulose (B) in the state of an aq. soln. as a thickner is mixed with a water-dispersed resin paint (A) comprising a resin component (a) such as a vinyl acetate polymer or a styrene-butadiene copolymer, a pigment (b) such as TiO2 or carbon black, and an aggregate (c) such as crushed Kansui-ishi(a limestone) or perlite.
