Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent sticking of soot and dust to the portion of an element pipe extending through the furnace wall, by forming nozzles also at said portion of the element pipe and ejecting air or the like therefrom in an apparatus for cleaning heat transfer surfaces by ejecting air or the like onto the heat transfer surface from an element pipe which is inserted into a portion of a boiler where gas is passed.
CONSTITUTION: An element pipe 1 connected at one end thereof to a driving means 6 is inserted into a boiler through a wall box 4 formed in furnace wall 8. A plurality of nozzles 2 are formed in the side face of element pipe 1 and air or steam is ejected from the nozzles 2 for removing soot and ash attached or sticked to heat transfer surfaces. Here, nozzles 5 having a diameter smaller than that of nozzles 2 are formed at the base portion of element pipe 1, i.e., the portion extending through the furnace wall 8. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to prevent sticking of soot and ash to the wall box 4 by ejecting air or the like also from nozzles 5 at the time of ejecting air or the like from nozzles 2.
