Abstract
PURPOSE:To make short the length of antenna element and to make small the size of unit, by variably controlling the reactance of the two terminal reactance circuit connected to a suitable part of the antenna element having a distributed inductance. CONSTITUTION:Since the antenna element 8 has a distributed inductance, it is equivalent to the coil the cancel the reactance added to the element, allowing to make short the antenna element length. Further, the pattern is designed to obtain the impedance at frequencies f1-f2-f3 of the unit of the element 8 as the curve A, it is connected with the parallel resonance circuit consisting of the coil 11 and variable capacitor 12, the resonant frequency is set to required value to obtain positive impedance at frequencies f1-f2-f3, then the impedance is turned out to be the curve B. Accordingly, the capacitor 12 changes the resonant frequency and the reactive component added to the shorted element 8, then tuning can be made at frequencies f1-f2-f3, allowing to make small the unit.
