Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent changes in the focus characteristics due to leak current between electrodes by providing the means of offsetting changes in focusing effect resulting from the main electron lens and the auxiliary electron lens when voltage of the common electrode fluctuates. CONSTITUTION:An electron gun mechanism 1 of a color picture tube, or the like holds an insulating material 21, and a pair of supporting mechanism 2 composed of glass resistors 2a installed on one part of it holds cathodes 3-5, the first-sixth grids 6-11 and a convergence electrode 12. It is formed so that changes in focusing effect due to the main electron lens and the auxiliary electron lens are almost offset by adjusting at least one of either the length of the electrode of said each grid or the distance between each grid and the diameters of the electron lenses.
