Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a reliability of maintenance and control of a storage battery by a method wherein quantities charged and residual at charging/discharging time are detected and displayed in consideration of charging efficiency, and an arrival of given capacity is displayed definitely.
CONSTITUTION: A voltage drop on a shunt 1 is detected in polarity opposite each other according to discharging or charging currnet, and a frequency signal with the pulse interval different at charging and discharging time is generated according to a characteristic with a charging efficiency at charging time taken into consideration by a voltage-frequency converter 6 through amplifiers 3, 4 with gains different according to the polarity. Then, a counter 9 operates through frequency divider 7, comparator 5, decision circuit 8, and the count is given on displays 20W23 in digit. When charging efficiency comes up to 100W130% of a rated capacity by a setter 11 at charging time and the capacity becomes zero at discharging time, the counter 9 is stopped counting by a detector 10, and thus the operation to stop charging and discharging can be ensured thereby.
