Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable character printing speed of be increased by delaying the feed timing of the recording paper which is fed to a conveying system by a paper feeder only with respect to the recording paper of the 1st time. CONSTITUTION:First, when the START signal of the 1st time is inputted to a CPU43, an electric charger 4, a photosensitive drum 3 and conveying rollers 13, 13 are driven simultaneously. On the other hand, the drive signal for a feed roller 10 is outputted with a delay by the given time having been preset in a timer circuit 46; therefore, at the instant when the recording paper P fed by the roller 10 is detected by a feed detector 12 on the conveying path 11a, the surface potential of a photosensitive surface 3a for the optical fiber cathode ray tube etc. (OFT)2 of the drum 3 has already been increased up to predetermined potential, thus even if the scanning exposure by the OFT2 is started upon inputting of the signal PDET1 of the detector 12, electrostatic latent images are surely formed on the surface 3a, and the occurrence of drop-out etc. is obviated.
