Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately and readily correct the temperature of the atomizer of an atomic absorption photometer into the expected setting temperature by electrically heating the sample container, controlling the applied current according to the resistance. CONSTITUTION:With switch 22 and 24 changed over to CHECK, the voltage set by a variable resistor 21 is applied to a constant-current circuit, so that a check current I0 flows through an atomizer graphite tube 1 of a sample container. Consequently, a voltage Vm across the tube 1 according to the resistance of the tube 1 is detected. Then, a voltage V0 across a standard graphite tube detected when the current I0 was supplied, and stored in a memory 26 of a CPU is read out through an analog/digital converter 24, and after a correction coefficient (V0/Vm)<1/2> is calculated and stored, the output of a heating program control circuit 28 is corrected by a corrector 27, converted into analog, and a correction value is set. Thus, the constant current applied to the tube 1 is controlled, so that the temperature of the atomizer can be accurately and readily corrected into the expected setting temperature by applying a given power even when the tube 1 has been changed.
