Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity for quay specialized for loading/unloading of bulk cargo by connecting a underwater tunnel to a loading tower provided off shore and transporting the cargo through this tunnel.
CONSTITUTION: This arrangement is composed of offshore storage facilities 1 for bulk cargo, a loading tower 20 in connection with these facilities 1, and an underwater tunnel 13 to put this tower 20 into communication with the depository on land. The cargo unloaded by the crane 3 is delivered to the depository for bulk cargo on land through a lifting belt conveyor 2, a conveyor 7 for lifting of cargo, a column-shaped hopper 11 which is housing a screwed plate 26, and a communication belt conveyor 12. The underwater tunnel 13 is leading to the depository for bulk cargo. In case this arrangement is used for exhausting the coal dust from a coal container for a thermoelectric power plant, the dust is sent to the offshore storage facilities 1 through a exhausting conveyor 14, a vertical exhausting conveyor 15, and a receiving conveyor 17. Thus, this arrangement will assure elimination of any special quay for loading/unloading and, if used in a thermoelectric power plant with coal, any coal dust tipping place also.
