Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate and ensure the quenching of coke in each section, continue the generation of steam and recover the steam effectively, by means of a container, mountable and dismountable on a cart, and having a plurality of sections therein.
CONSTITUTION: Red-hot coke 8 is pushed from a coke oven while moving a cart 2 at a slow speed and contained in the respective sections IWV of a container 3 mounted on a cart 2 evenly and separately. The coke 8 is then quenched by a quenching and steam recovery apparatus 4. The section I in the container 3 is enclosed by the top and bottom covers 11 and 12 to jet water from spray nozzles 15 and pass the water form the top to the bottom of the coke 8. Superheated steam passed through a hearth 10 is led through the bottom cover 12 and duct 16 to a steam reutilizing apparatus.
