Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition having stabilized color tone, not causing discoloration in high-temperature molding, by blending polycarbonate resin with a specific organic phosphonate.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. polycarbonate resin is blended with 0.001W5pts.wt. pigment (preferably titanium dioxide) and 0.001W0.2pts.wt. organic phosphonate (preferably ethyl diethylphosphonoacetate, etc.) shown by the formula (R1WR3 are 1W18C alkyl; n is 1 or 2) as a stabilizer.
EFFECT: This composition is readily processed into a thin molded article at high temperature and a large amount of a pigment can be added to it to keep opacifying properties and color tone to compensate their reduction resulting from thin molding.
