Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition which keeps the high-quality and fast color even after high-temperature moldng, regardless of the addition of pigments, by compounding a polycarbonate resin with a specific organic phosphonic acid.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 100pts.wt. of a polycarbonate resin, (B) 0.001W0.1 part of an organic phosphonic acid of formula (R is aryl, aralkyl or alkyl), pref. an arylphosphonic acid, and if necessary, (C) 0.01W5.0 parts of a pigment such as a metal oxide (e.g. TiO2), carbon black, etc. The addition of the pigment is pref. after or simultaneously to the addition of the organic phosphonic acid.
EFFECT: A large amount of pigment can be incorporated into the resin, which enables to attain a sufficiently high opacifying power and intense coloring even in the case of a thin-walled article.
