Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent-S/N output by eliminating a carrier component even when the frequency of the carrier is low, by converting the period of a pulse string into a voltage and then by sampling and holding it at cycles of the carrier. CONSTITUTION:An FM signal applied to input terminal 7, after having an ampplitude-varying component eliminated by limiter 8, is converted into a pulse string constant in pulse width through differentiating circuit 9 and pulse waveform shaping circuit 10. This pulse string is supplied to differentiating circuit 11, which converts variations in cycles of the pulse string into the level shift extent, i.e. variations in voltage. The output of limiter 8, on the other hand, is converted by sampling pulse generating circuit 12 into sampling pulses of the same cycles with the carrier and they are applied to sample holding circuit 13. Sample holding circuit 13 samples the level shift extent to output a staircase wave.
