Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the bending of the flow of ink particles by a method wherein a space between the surface of a drum and a rectifier plate is narrowed by driving the rectifier plate to move backward while synchronizing the movement with that of the plate for holding down recording paper. CONSTITUTION:If a drum 1 is turned clockwise, a plate 1b used to hold down recording paper reaches the end portion of a rectifier plate 5. While the plate is clearing the end portion, a supporting frame 6 is forced to move backward in resisting the repulsing force of springs 101, 102. When the plate 1b has passed through the end portion, the frame is pushed forward by the repulsing force of the spring 101, 102. As a result, a gap between the recording paper on the drum 1 and the end of the rectifier plate 5 is kept minute normally, and the amount of flowing wind going through the cap is made extremely small, thus minimizing the bending of the flow of ink particles caused by the wind.
