Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the variation of the floating amount which is caused by the fluctuation of the load, by giving a convex bend to the floating surface of the head slider of a float-type magnetic head and thus preventing from the disk face close touch which stand still along with the generation of the negative pressure at a part of the slider. CONSTITUTION:When the floating surface of the sloder 11 is formed by the curved surface of the radius R, an adverse wedge is formed between the floating surface and the disk face at the rear end side in the advancing direction of the disk on the floating surface. As a result, the negative pressure is generated. On the other hand, the positive pressure is generated at the front end side on the floating surface with formation of a wedge when the rear end side tapers. By making the sum of these positive pressure and negative pressure zero to reduce the breakage in the contact start/stop. A slight change of the floating amount corresponds to a large variation of the load, thus reducing the variation of the floating amount.
