Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the mechanical properties such as strength of the powder molding in a die by applying impact of high frequencies by applying a phase difference from two orthogonal and pairing outside peripheral surfaces of the die and chaging the sectional shape of the die to an elliptical shape while alternately changing the same.
CONSTITUTION: The powder molding device is constituted by a die 1, an upper punch 2, a lower punch 3, a core rod 4 and impact wave generating devices 5. The devices 5 are provided around the die 1 at an angle spacing of 90, and the impact wave generating devices 5a, 5a' and 5b, 5b' are provided respectively in one diametral direction of the die 1 and the diametral direction orthogonal to this. In addition, a phase difference of 180° is given between the operating phase of the devices 5a, 5a' and the operating phase of the devices 5b, 5b'. The die 1 is then deformed to an elliptical shape while its sectional shape is being alternately changed in the long-axis direction and the short-axis direction by these devices 5. As a result, the powder particles facing the inside circumferential surface 11 of the die are bounced up from the surface 11, whereby the necessary deformation of the die is made easy and the molding free from any density deviation is made.
