Abstract
PURPOSE: To utilize nitrogen components as nourishment of aquatic plants and purify sewage to use it again, by filling sewage in the shallow oxidation pond such as a rice paddy and by denitrifying nitrogen component in sewage while changing this depth.
CONSTITUTION: Sewage 9 is held shallowly on water permeable earth 8 of the rice paddy and so on where compost is mixed, and this rice paddy is used as an oxidation pond, and the water depth is adjusted intermittently. Then, nitrogen in ammonia condition in sewage 9 is oxidized to nitrogen in nitric acid condition and is transferred to the reduction layer in earth 8 including carbon components. This nitrogen in nitric acid condition in this reduction layer is denitrified by denitrification germs. Thus, nitrogen components in the reduction layer are used as nourishment of aquatic plants such as paddy rice 5, and purified water is used again as city water.
