Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely align upper and lower molds by providing gauge marks to the upper and lower molds respectively, detecting the positions of both gauge marks, comparing these with set values and controlling the movement of the upper mold based on the deviated value thereof.
CONSTITUTION: Gauge marks 9, 10 are protrusively provided to upper and lower molds 6, 8 and the gauge marks 9', 10' to which these gauge marks 9, 10 fit are provided. The images of these gauge marks 9, 10, 9', 10' are picked up in television cameras 11, 12 and are analyzed by a microcomputer to grasp the gauge mark positions. Next, the signals of the gauge mark positions and set values are compared and the relative deviation amount of the upper and lower molds 6, 8 are calculated to obtain the position correcting amount of the upper mold 6. Based on the signal of the correcting amount, the upper mold 6 is controlled of its movement, whereby the position alignment of the uppe and lower molds 6, 8 is accomplished. This method elimintes mold collapse and improves the manufacturing accuracy of the mold.
