Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to restart operation of a piston and to reverse movement of the piston smoothly, by causing movement of the piston by the attracting and repulsing forces acted between a permanent magnet and electromagnets and the relirient force of springs.
CONSTITUTION: When a power switch 16 is closed, electromagnets 7 disposed on the opposite sides of a pump chamber are energized by the current supplied via a control means 15. Here, if the polarity of the electromagnets 7 is turned to S when a piston 4 is located at the right of pump chamber 3, piston 4 is moved to the left in chamber 3 since S-pole of one electromagnet 7 repulses S-pole of a permanent magnet 6 and S-pole of the other electromagnet 7 attracts N-pole of the permanent magnet 6. Subsequently, when the polarity of the electromagnets 7 is reversed by control means 15, piston 4 starts movement to the right in chamber 3. In the above arrangement, springs 20 are provided additionally on both sides of the pump chamber 3, so that the biasing force of springs 20 is also acted to the piston 4 in addition to the magnetic attracting and repulsing forces. Therefore, it is enabled to cause smooth reciprocal movement of piston 4.
