Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the safety of an oil-immersed transformer by connecting airtightly an exhaust oil tank through a pressure-avoiding unit to a common conduit for connecting the tank, a cooler and an oil feeding pump and thereby preventing explosion. CONSTITUTION:A pressure-avoiding unit 13 is mounted at the end of the common conduit 8 having larger oil feeding area than upper and lower conduits 6, 7 and 9 for connecting the tank 2, the coolar 4 and the oil feeding pump 5 and is airtightly connected to the exhaust oil tank 16 installed in the basement via a connecting tube 14 having an oil feeding area equal to or larger than the conduit 8. If a serious internal shorting accident occurs in the transformer, the unit 13 can be operated by this configuration so that the oil flow circulating within the transformer so far is introduced from the interior of the transformer through the conduits 8 and 14 having low flowing resistance to the tank 16. Accordingly, this can prevent the explosion of the transformer and can enhance the safety factor of the transformer.
