Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain good hydraulic pressure change over characteristics of a spool valve by having a valve case move in axial direction with an input shaft and output shaft thereby absorbing the movement.
CONSTITUTION: When the steering is done by a steering wheel, the reaction force is transmitted to an output shaft 4 from an input shaft 2 through a torsion bar 3, which is twisted in proportion to said reaction force to turn the input shaft 2. A spool valve 14 which is movingly connected to the input shaft 2 by a ball 16 tries to rotate with the input shaft 2 but can not rotate because a pin 21 fixed to the output shaft 14 is inserted into a recessed part 19, whereby the ball 16 moves along a helical groove 17 to eighter of the axial direction of the input shaft 2 according to the rotating direction of the input shaft 2, resulting in the change over of the hydraulic oil by the spool valve 14 to generate the hydraulic pressure.
