Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain Pb-Sn alloy coated steel products with superior corrosion resistance and adhesion by coating each of the surfaces of steel products with a double- coated layer consisting of an Ni-Sn alloy layer and a Pb-Sn alloy layer. CONSTITUTION:Each of the surfaces of purified steel products is coated with Ni or further coated with an Ni-Sn alloy, dipped in a Pb-Sn alloy plating bath of 320- 400 deg.C for 1-10sec, and rapidly cooled to <=300 deg.C in <=3sec to form a double-coated layer consisting of an Ni-Sn layer. Thus, alloy coated steel products with high corrosion resistance are obtd. A triple-coated layer may be formed by laying an Ni layer under the double-coated layer or bonding part of the Ni layer to Sn in the Pb- Sn coated alloy to form an Ni-Sn alloy layer as a middle layer. The steel products hardly undergo the occurrence of pinholes and have superior coating adhesion and corrosion resistance.
