PURPOSE:To increase the durability and cooling effect of the band saw by a method wherein saw-edge-shaped edge fitting parts are arranged by providing U-shaped notches in the upper part of a band-shaped metal plate at equal intervals and sintered edges are brazed in the cut grooves formed in the central parts of the fitting parts. CONSTITUTION:In the upper end part of the band-shaped metal plate 1 are formed the U-shaped notches 5 at equal intervals and the saw-edge-shaped edge fitting parts 2 are arranged. In the fitting parts 2 are formed the cut grooves 3 to which the sintered edges 4 are brazed. For the sintered edge 4, pulverized diamond or boron intride of cubic system is used as a grinding material. Below the sintered edge 4 the lower half of the cut groove 3 is exposed as it is, whereby large cooling effect is attained.
