Abstract
PURPOSE: To perfectly remove small stones, sand, metals, etc, in cereal by using cyclone.
CONSTITUTION: Water having been boosted is supplied to a water feed pipe 1, and is controlled to a predetermined pressure by means of a pressure regulating valve 3 while it is being supervised with a pressure gauge 2. The water past the water feed pipe 1 is force-fed into a feeder 4. The beans to be treated are charged into the water flow in the feeder 4, at the amount controlled by the damper 7 provided between a hopper 5 and the feeder 4. The charged beans flow in a pipe 8 by being carried by the water flow in the feeder 4 and are force fed into a cyclone 9. The beans to be treated which are given slewing motion in the cyclone 9 are separated of foreign matter heavier in specific gravity such as small stones, sand, metals, and the thus carefully selected beans are discharged together with the water through a discharge pipe 10. They are then received in coarse-mesh bags or the like whereby they are drained off of water and are gathered.
