Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain two independent antennas on the same inductor substrate, by providing a slot on the microstrip resonance conductor and then feeding both the resonance conductor and the slot. CONSTITUTION:The slot 7 is provided in parallel to the current direction on the square copper foil 6, and thus the current has no disturbance to ensure an operation with the frequency f1 and in the same way as the conventional microstrip antenna. The length of the slot is selected near the half wavelength with the frequency f2 with the feeding given through the points 8 and 9. Thus a slot antenna working with f2 is obtained. As the electric field is zero by f1 at the center of the dielectric substance between the foil 6 and the earth conductor 5, no effect is given to the antenna characteristics due to f1 although the feeder of the slot may be inserted to the center part. Furthermore, the center of the foil 6 is short-circuited by the conductor bar 12, and accordingly the occurrence is suppressed for the current of the mode under which the periphery of the foil 6 is turned into an equivalent circular slot antenna with f2. Thus the slot 7 functions as a slot antenna with reflecting plate via the dielectric substance 2. In such way, the two independent antennas are formed on the same substrate.
