Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify an analysis and improve accuracy of measurement by measuring the weight of the reference solution in a gravity buret before and after titration.
CONSTITUTION: A gravity buret 1 is placed on a balance 2, and filled with a reference solution to measure the total weight before titration. Then the gravity buret 1 is taken off the balance 2, and a suspender 3 is caught on a hook. A container filled with a liquid to be measured is placed under a dropping port 1a, and a cock 1b is opened to titrate to the end point. When the titration is finished, the gravity buret 1 is placed on the balance 2 again to measure the weight. By using the difference between the weights before and after the titration, the quantity of the object being measured is computed as a product of the equivalent quantity g1 of the object per gram of the reference solution and the weight g2 of the used reference solution. This permits the combination of the balance 2 and the gravity buret 1 to accurately measure the difference of the reference solution weights before and after the titration. Thus, the desired purpose can be attained.
