Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the deposition of salt in the eluates for the analysis of urine and the corrosion of the stainless piping system by specifying the eluates.
CONSTITUTION: Eluates 1AW1F to be supplied through a multiple-way valve 2 and a feed pump 3 to a sample injection port 4 are liquids of phosphate-chloride- acetonitrile whose concentrations are raised stepwisely within the ranges: 0W0.5M ammonium phosphate, 0W0.5M ammonium chloride and 0W50vol% acetonitrile. The eluates 1AW1F are successively supplied to the sample injection port 4, and a sample such as urine is absorbed by an equilibrated separation column 5. The absorbed sample is separated into constituents, which are successively introduced to a detector 6, and the detection results are recorded on a recorder 7. By adding phosphate, the salt concentrations of the eluates 1AW1F are less than 1/10 of those of conventional methods. Therefore, the deposition of salt and the corrosion of the stainless piping system can be prevented.
