Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit a copper resistor and a platinum resistance element to be interchangeably used in a temperature-to-voltage converter circuit by supplying a constant current to a series- connected circuit comprising a combined resistance circuit and a compensating circuit, and detecting the temperature from the voltage across the series-connected circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A combined resistance circuit R comprising a copper resistor Cu and a fixed resistor Rp connected in parallel so that the difference between the combined resistance values at 0°C and 100°C is that (39.16Ω) of a platinum reference resistance element whose resistance value is 100Ω at 0°C, is connected to the negative-side input terminal of an operational amplifier 5. Between the output and ground terminals of the operational amplifier 5, fixed resistors R1 and R1' are connected, and the middle point between them and the positive-side input terminal are connected to form a positive feedback operational amplifier circuit 4 of gain 2. When the resistance value of the combined resistance circuit R at 0°C is larger than 100Ω, a compensating resistor Rs is inserted between the negative-side input terminal and the output terminal of the operational amplifier 5, and a constant current is supplied to a series-connected circuit comprising the combined resistance circuit R and the compensating resistor Rs. From the voltage across the series- connected circuit, the temperature is detected.
