Abstract

PURPOSE: To steadly impart hydrophilicity to a vinyl chloride type resin molded product, by placing the molded product within an internal electrode discharge type low-temperature plasma generator, maintaining the molded product at a specified temperature, and treating the molded product with low-temperature plasma of an inorganic gas.
CONSTITUTION: A vinyl chloride type resin molded product is placed within an internal electrode discharge type low-temperature plasma generator. While the temperature of the product (T1°C) and the temperature of an input side electrode (T2°C) are maintained at temperature represented by formulas I and II, the product is treated with low-temperature plasma of an inorganic gas at below 10 Torr. The input side electrode may be of the type of flat plate, net, coil or rod, but the type of electrode through which a heating medium can be passed to satisfy the temperature requirements is preferred. The low-pressure inorganic gas introduced into the low- temperature plasma generator is converted to plasma in the vicinity of the electrode, and the plasma generated reacts with the surface of the product placed within the generator to render the surface of the product hydrophilic.
