Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate driving of auxiliary machinery of engine, by connecting an auxiliary machinery driving pulley, in freely detachable manner, to an electromagnetic brake means which is fixed to the crank shaft, and connecting said brake means and pulley directly for increasing revolutional speed of the pulley when engine speed is low. CONSTITUTION:Input shaft 2 at the top of crank shaft 1 is coupled with a drive pulley 3 constituting an output member, by the intermediary of one-way clutch 6, and an auxiliary machinery driving pulley 16 is connected to pulley 3 by means of belt 17. Carrier 29 fixed to input shaft 2 carries thereon a sun gear 21 engageable with ring gear 22, and an electromagnetic brake means 24 is fixed to crank shaft 1. With such an arrangement, when engine speed is lower than a certain level, brake means 24 is energized so that ring gear 22 is attracted to means 24. Resultantly, pulley 16 is turned through rotation of crank shaft 1, so that its revolutional speed is increased.
