Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase a damping effect in the radial direction by fitting a part of stationary magnets in a radial bearing vertically movably to the revolving shaft and packing a viscous material between the movable magnet and a stationary fitting.
CONSTITUTION: In a magnetic bearing, repulsion type radial magnetic bearings A are provided at both ends and a thrust direction control magnetic bearing B is in the middle. Each repulsion type radial magnetic bearing A consists of permanent magnets 5 secured to a revolving shaft 8 and three permanent magnets 6 provided on the side of a stator and opposed to the permanent magnets 5. Of the three permanent magnets 6, the intermediate magnet 6' can be shifted in the radial direction at right angles with the revolving shaft 8 and the rest two permanent magnets 6", 6" are fixed to fittings 7. The magnets 6', 6" and 5, 6 are disposed so as to repel each other, respectively. A viscous material 9 such as an oil is packed between the magnet 6' and the fitting 7 to control a damping force.
