Abstract

PURPOSE: To expell the air bubbles stagnating on the under side of the substrate in a paint solution cell by providing nozzles directed upward near the bottom of the cell in combination with a circulating device and injecting the paint solution therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: Upward (or diagonally upward) nozzles 38 are provided so as to position above the downward nozzles 22 and below the substrate 4. In a circulating device 10, electrodeposition paint solution 6 is discharged from the multiple downward nozzles 22 and horizontal nozzles 21 through the pump 12, joints 16, concentrating pipes 18 and branch pipes 19. The flow of A→B→E→C is produced in the cell. The head to the concentrating pipe 34 of a paint injecting mechanism 30 is made higher than that of the concentrating pipes 18, and the throat diameter of the injection nozzles 38 is made smaller than that of the nozzles 22. The paint liquid is injected upward (or diagonally upward) from the injection nozzles 38 via the concentrating pipe 34 and branch pipes 36 to directly hit the under side face of the substrate 4.
