Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically decrease the amount of sulfur in molten iron by estimating the sulfur in the molten iron by the use of the relational formula between the equilibrium hitting degree of the sulfur distribution reaction between slag and metal and slag viscosity, comparing the thus estimated value and actual values and changing the compounding of sintering ore materials. CONSTITUTION:Tuyere blast conditions, charges conditions (amount of charing, composition), molten iron components (C, Si, Mn), molten iron temperatures are inputted to the relational formula between the equilibrium hitting degree of the sulfur distribution reaction between slag and metal and slag viscosity obtained through analysis of actual blast furnace data, whereby the amount of sulfur in molten iron is estimated. The thus estimated value and actual values are compared and the compounding of sintering ore materials is changed. Then, the effect of the compounding changing is beforehand quantitatively forecast, and the economical sulfur reduction in the blast furnace becomes possible.
